Dual Degree Path
Earn your PharmD and a master’s degree through our dual degree programs. Options include a Master of Business Administration, Master of Public Health, Master in Health Informatics and Information Management, or a Master of Science in Instruction and Curriculum Leadership.
Doctorate (PhD) in Pharmaceutical Sciences
The Pharmaceutical Sciences PhD offers five areas of specialization: Therapeutic Targets and Molecular Mechanisms of Disease, Drug Discovery and Development, Pharmacometrics, Drug Delivery and Targeting, and Artificial Intelligence in Pharmaceutical Sciences. You’ll build strong research skills within a top-ranked, collaborative academic environment, equipping you to advance in your career.

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) Program
The PharmD program is a four-year degree that blends classroom lectures and hands-on lab experience. You’ll work in clinical settings as early as year one, with rotations ramping up significantly in years three and four across settings like community pharmacies, hospitals, and specialty facilities.

UTHSC keeps your graduate pharmacy education within reach. We award more than $1.6 million in scholarships each year. Our in-state tuition remains the lowest of all Tennessee pharmaceutical colleges, and all out-of-state residents receive a substantial discount over traditional out-of-state rates.
